SPY Fox 2: “Some Assembly Required” is a kids’ adventure game for the Windows and Macintosh operating systems. “Some Assembly Required” is the second game in the SPY Fox series and is a sequel to SPY Fox in “Dry Cereal”. The game follows SPY Fox as he attempts to stop Napoleon LeRoach from destroying the World’s Fair.
Scully co-wrote the game dialogue and voiced LeRoach, based on Hervé Villechaize from Fantasy Island and the James Bond flick The Man with the Golden Gun.

Interviewer: You wrote for this game and voiced the villain, Napoleon LeRoach.
David: Based on Hervé Villechaize from Fantasy Island and the James Bond flick: The Man with the Golden Gun. You have no idea who that is. (Laughs) Let’s talk about the writing.
Interviewer: The dialogue you helped write for Spy Fox 2: No Assembly Required. SPY Fox 2 got unusually strong critical recognition for a children’s game — including a 100 from Quandary, a 95 from Electric Playground, a 92 from Review Corner, and several children’s-software awards.
David: They had the whole game designed and planned out the scenarios; Brad Carlton (SpyFox creator and director) hired me to help come up with snappy lines for the majority of those characters. That was a lot of hard work but fun.
Interviewer: Did you write specifically with actors in mind?
David: I had visuals and chatted extensively with Brad and the Spy Fox development team about each character, what they were like, and what Spy Fox was trying to accomplish in the scene. I also had some character designs and storyboards.
Interviewer: Did you realize at the time that you were helping to create something that critics were going to take seriously?
David: I had no idea it was going to get so much attention until later, which was great for the team (and me)
